Well, summer "officially" started last week, but we are still calling this the "Spring" edition. You should be used to this by now!

I'm getting the sense that there are a lot of YAC Alumni (both recent and way back) in the area this summer. The first thing you want to do is put the Community Foundation's Annual Meeting on your busy calendars! Thursday, August 7th from 9:30am to 11am. The Bay View Inn will be the usual location. Please come and say hello.

If you are in downtown Petoskey this summer you will notice something new. Well, the road construction is nothing new, but the grassy, tree-lined medians on Mitchell Street are. Come check them out. And while you're there, pop up the street to the Community Foundation's "new" office. OK, we have been up on the third floor for over a year, but whatever it takes to get you to visit!!

Three New YAC Alumni

Welcome to our newest YAC Alumni (l to r) Ellen Blanchard, (YAC Advisor DJ), Kyle Ronquist and Eric Raynal.

Ellen, Kyle and Eric were the "three amigos" this year. With their leadership, the YAC members took on more of an ownership role. And we entered the modern era by creating our very own YAC group on Facebook.

Ellen and Kyle graduated from Petoskey High School . Ellen will attend Kenyon University and Kyle will attend the University of Michigan . Eric graduated from Concord Academy and will attend the University of Michigan .

YPODs: Young Professionals Off Duty

The mission is to bring together young professionals in the Petoskey area. The events aim to help young professionals add to their social network and experience what our local community has to offer. Since the official kickoff event in January, YPOD has planned events including bowling at Northern Lights, skiing at Nub's Nob, snowshoeing at Camp Daggett , and Swirl at Crooked Tree Arts Center , in addition to monthly happy hours at local venues and more!
